Volunteer Group Information
Volunteering as a Group
Getting involved is easy. All we ask is that your organization be willing to dedicate a minimum of twelve hours per person over a three week period. After signing up, we can work with you to tailor your Ambassador assignments to your organization's needs and preferences. You may have as few or as many members of your organization sign up as you want. Your organization captures the intense professionalism and great heart that South Florida has to offer, and we are eager to share that with our visitors!
When signing up to volunteer as a group, we offer two different scheduling options:
Option #1: Each member of the group may sign up individually. When signing up individually, members of your organization will be able to see a list of all shifts and events and then choose the shifts that best fit with their individual schedule.
For this option, there are no additional forms that need to be filled out. Each member of the group is responsible for filling out an Ambassador Application and fulfilling the general requirements of an Ambassador.
Option #2: The leader of your group can request which events, types of events, dates, and/or shifts that your group would like to work. With this option, your group members will only be allowed to select from the shifts chosen by the group leader. This option ensures that members of your organization will be working together for the times and tasks that meet your group's preferences.
Training
There will be approximately several different one-hour training sessions scattered throughout a three month period prior to Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. Each Ambassador will be required to attend ONE of these training sessions. Members of groups do not have to all attend the same training session. However, if it is more convenient for your group to meet together at a time or location other than one of the training sessions scheduled, please let us know and we would be happy to arrange a private training session.
Now What?
In order for your organization to volunteer as a group using the second option, all group members still must fill out an individual Ambassador Application. After doing so, one group member needs to take on the responsibility of being the team leader. The team leader will then need to fill out the Group Contact Form and Activity Selection Form found below. In addition, the leader must also create a Microsoft Word or Excel document listing the names and email addresses of the members of your group interested in volunteering. All three documents (Contact Form, Activity Form and Member List) must be faxed or emailed to the Volunteer Services Department by October 30, 2009. All forms are available on our website.
