Captain's Program
What is an Ambassador Captain?
Ambassador Captains are leaders within the Volunteer Ambassador Program. Being an Ambassador Captain requires a substantial time commitment to the Host Committee and its Volunteer Services Department. An Ambassador Captain acts as a key administrator during their scheduled shifts.
Ambassador Captain Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age by November 2009
- Consent to and pass an FBI background check
- Reliable means of transportation and communication
- Possess hospitality, communication, delegation, and leadership abilities
- Personally recruit at least ten (10) volunteers
Ambassador Captain Anticipated Time Commitments
- Attend Captain training session
- Attend Captains meetings (no more than one (1) per month)
- Work training sessions during October 2009 - January 2010
- Work two (2) shifts per week during January 1 - January 23
- Work ten (10) shifts during January 27 - February 8
Ambassador Duties & Responsibilities
Ambassadors will be able to choose a specific activity to help manage during activation periods.

Airport Ambassadors
Airport Ambassadors are the first South Florida touch point for Pro Bowl 2010 and Super Bowl XLIV visitors and it is critical for this experience to be a pleasant one. Ambassadors at the airports provide an enthusiastic welcome to Super Bowl guests at the major airports in South Florida: Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, Miami International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport. Airport Ambassadors should be friendly and greet guests with warm smiles providing answers about Super Bowl XLIV and Pro Bowl 2010. Airport Ambassadors communicate game, special event, and transportation information and also distribute NFL, Host Committee, and hospitality publications.
Airport Ambassador Captain Duties
- Check-in/out Ambassadors
- Dispatch to assigned positions
- Rotate shifts accordingly
- Coordinate breaks
- Conflict resolution
- Monitor Ambassador customer service
- Obtain flight schedule from airport to position volunteers
- Confirm all gates/baggage claims are properly maintained and have appropriate information
- Inventory and restock Visitor Information booth
Hotel Ambassadors
Hotel Ambassadors will staff visitor information booths located in hotel lobbies for guests visiting during Pro Bowl 2010 and Super Bowl XLIV. Ambassadors will be responsible for greeting and answering guests' questions about Super Bowl events. Hotel Ambassadors will be able to inform guests of the event details while also distributing NFL, Host Committee, and hospitality publications. Personable and friendly people are most desirable for this position.

- Set up and break down Visitor Information booth
Special Events Ambassadors
Special Events Ambassadors take part in creating a hospitable atmosphere at special events hosted by the NFL and the Host Committee. Special events typically take place during the month of January through the week of Super Bowl in February 2010. Special events range in size and duration and vary in requirements. Special events include private and public parties, seminars, youth clinics, etc.
