Local schools have an opportunity to team up with the National Football League, South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee and the Miami Dolphins to make a difference in the lives of local children. They can join in Super Kids-Super Sharing, a community initiative that puts books, sports equipment and board games into the hands of children in need.
Participating schools collect new or lightly used items in early January. On January 28, 2010 school volunteers deliver donated items to the NFL Youth Education Town at Gwen Cherry Park in Miami. Representatives from the NFL, Miami Dolphins and South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee will be on hand to greet and thank students and organizers.
To sign up or learn more, contact Susan Groh, NFL Environmental Program, at (401) 732-1551 or by email at NFLenvironment@aol.com
Super Kids-Super Sharing is part of the NFL's rapidly-growing environmental initiative for the Super Bowl. NFL Environmental evaluates the environmental impacts of Super Bowl activities and works with the local community to develop and implement cost-effective and sustainable projects to address them. This is accomplished through solid waste management, material reuse, food recovery, greenhouse gas reduction, and tree plantings and other community projects.
