MISSION: The mission of the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee (SFHC) is to prepare the South Florida region to host Super Bowl XLIV, a record-breaking 10th Super Bowl, and to fulfill all bid obligations to the National Football League. The SFHC, together with the South Florida region, will work as one community utilizing national media coverage and increased tourism to more effectively market our destination, increase the regional economy, encourage community involvement and support local business development. Our community effort will create a better quality of life for all residents and position South Florida as the premier site to host future Super Bowls.

PROGRAM HISTORY: In 1994, the National Football League developed an initiative designed to promote Super Bowl-related business opportunities to small, minority- and women-owned businesses.  The program, recently coined the Emerging Business Program, has been fully adopted by the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee.  The program will be the cornerstone of Super Bowl XLIV procurement efforts for the NFL, the NFL's contractors, and the Host Committee.

PROGRAM GOAL:

It is the goal of the NFL that minority and woman-owned businesses have the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl procurement process. The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority and woman-owned businesses access these procurement opportunities.  While participation in the program does not guarantee receipt of Super Bowl XLIV-related contracts, it is the intention of the SFHC that interested minority and woman-owned businesses receive an education in the large event procurement process, an introduction to potential purchasing entities and exposure to other procurement opportunities.
