____________________________________________________________________The NFL Emerging Business Program is designed to provide local minority- and woman-owned businesses the maximum opportunity to participate in the Super Bowl procurement process. While participation in the program does not guarantee receipt of Super Bowl XLIV-related contracts, it is the intention of the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee (SBHC) and the NFL that interested minority- and woman-owned businesses receive information on the Super Bowl procurement process and programming opportunities to support long-term business development goals.
How the Program Works
The goal of the NFL Emerging Business program is to maximize procurement opportunities for small, minority and woman-owned enterprises to do Super Bowl business and/or promote growth for future success.
How to become involved as an Emerging Business
Every year, the NFL makes a positive economic impact in the Super Bowl host city. The NFL Emerging Business Program has become an important component of the overall impact by building direct links between the National Football League and minority- and women-owned businesses. The program is ever evolving.
The NFL Emerging Business Program objectives include:
• Maximize and inform minority- and woman-owned businesses of available business opportunities surrounding the Super Bowl;
• Encourage the pursuit of on-going business opportunities within the local community and to further empower vendors in the pursuit of future large scale events;
• Provide access to industry leaders for the purposes of business development, education, training, and dialogue;
• Provide business development programming that best reflects the needs of the local business community.
Doing Business. Growing Business.
1. Every year, the NFL works directly with experienced contractors, event planners, sponsors and affiliated groups to determine their business needs in preparation for the complex execution of each Super Bowl event.
2. The NFL works with civic groups, government agencies and the host committee in the Super Bowl community to create a database of local small, minority and women-owned businesses.
3. This database is screened and compiled into an online Business Resource Guide, which is available to all NFL-affiliated contractors, sponsors and Super bowl - related groups.
4. Each year, the NFL and Host Committee conduct a series of workshops focused on preparing for Super Bowl business, as well as developing programming and partnerships designed to reinforce the long-term legacy/benefits of actively participating in the program.
